We Celebrate the Madonna School and its mission
because of the positive impact the Madonna Programs have
on the lives of the children, adults, and their families.
Value, Worth, & Dignity
It all started because Sister
Mary Evangeline Randolph, RSM chose to educate children with cognitive disabilities
and created an educational
organization founded on the Christian principles of the value, worth and
dignity of every individual as created by God.
The Madonna mission is to serve
students and adults with cognitive and developmental disabilities to become as
independent as possible.
Since 1960 the Madonna School and Workshop Programs
have grown an expanded, further touching the lives of the families and
improving the community in which we live. The pages of this blogsite show story
after story of the impact of the Madonna School and it becomes obvious with
each page why we Celebrate. Here are
a few examples:
- · Bright Beginnings, introduces Jack, 2013 school year’s youngest Madonna student.
- · Many parents are fatigued by the time the Madonna School is found. Tara shares the thanks that her son now participates in activities with his peers and has friends, Jayne has found Hope for the Future, and with the help of the Madonna School many families enjoy what they once thought could never be: The Joy of Normal.
- · It doesn’t end with school, The Madonna Workshop also gives Comfort & Hope to families and the newest efforts of the Madonna Program, transition and employment services create further paths to independence.
These are just a few of the stories, there are many more in among
these pages and still in the making. This year we Celebrate with the theme Follow
the Sun, on August
23rd. Join us!
